Magnesite is an important mineral resource in China and the magnesite flotation process has developed rapidly in recent years.However,the mineral recovery rate in magnesite purification by flotation is generally low.With the grinding fineness-0.074 mm being 70.1%,pH value 5.5,the dosage of sodium hexametaphosphate 150 g/t,the amount of water glass 500 g/t and the improved conventional flotation flowsheet,flotation tests were conducted on the raw magnesite ore with a MgO(IL=0)content of 92.32% in Haicheng,Liaoning,using the one-roughing and two-cleaning reverse flotation and secondary cleaned tailings reconcentration processing flowsheet with the obtained concentrate being MgO 96.56% and recovery 83.10%.Compared with the one-roughing and two-cleaning flotation flowsheet,with the similar quality of concentrate,the recovery rate was increased by 6.55.This flotation process is simple and feasible and can effectively improve the utilization rate of magnesite resources and reduce the tailings discharge.
